How to Order a Custom Base

You never have to send us your specimen!  All we need from you are photographs of an impression mold that you will make.  It only takes a few minutes to do, and once you watch the tutorials below you'll see how easy and fun it is!

Step 1: Make an Impression Mold

This tutorial will show you how to make an impression mold of your specimen using Kinetic Sand. This step usually only takes two minutes to complete.

Where to buy Kinetic Beach Sand & Lego:

IMPORTANT: Please only use 'Kinetic Sand'. This works better than other brands of polymer sand.

Step 2: Photograph the Mold

We need photographs of your mold from many angles. This step should take less than 3 minutes to complete. All you will need is a camera and a ruler with centimeter markings.  If you don't have a metric ruler you can print one out here.

Step 3: Upload the Photos

Please upload your photos to any of the free cloud services such as Dropbox, iCloud, Amazon Photos, Google Drive, Microsoft One Drive, etc.  You can even upload them to a web or ftp site.  Anything works as long as you can share them with us. Please do not email them.

Step 4: Choose Your Options & Submit Your Order

The Order Form is where you will select your Base's options such as base thickness, font, and label information.  From there we will get started on your base, and typical turnaround time is just a few days.
