Aquamarine, Schorl & Albite ($8,000)

This is the crown jewel of our mineral collection! When you go to the large mineral shows you will almost certainly see examples of Shigar Vally aquamarine, but you will NEVER see anything quite like this! This is a truly exceptional specimen that is beyond compare to the others.

For starters, the bulk of the specimen is the HUGE aquamarine base on which the other crystals lay. Then there is the cluster of absolutely gemmy clear and parallel aquamarine crystals shooting off the top. Enveloping the base is a albite with a few small specks of black tourmaline / schorl.

While this piece is all natural, and has not been enhanced, it has been repaired professionally by Voelter Minerals in 2012 (paperwork can be provided). As we understand it, the albite "cap" on the large aqua base became separated, and it took the cluster of larger crystals with it - intact. The cap was expertly put back on the large aqua, and it's one of the best repair jobs I've ever seen. From the front you cannot tell at all that there have been any repairs whatsoever. From the back, the only place you can see it is where the larger aqua crystal connects to the base crystal. Otherwise, the repair is indistriguishable and exquisite.On the top of the large aqua base are what appear to be areas where additional aqua offshoots once existed, but are no longer there.

This specimen also comes with it's own custom, handmade, lighted display case which is shown in the middle-bottom photo below. It has two front LED light posts, and a LED light strip on the bottom to illuminate the specimen from the inside. The photo doesn't do it justice! The display case makes this amazing specimen even more amazing in person!
